The lead investigator and long term Houston Police Department undercover narcotics Officer Gerald Goines lied to obtain a no-knock warrant. The no-knock warrant lead to the death of a middle-aged couple, their dog, and the wounding of four officers, at 7815 Harding Street on 28 January 2019. From abc13.com:
The search warrant clearly shows the initial information used to obtain the no-knock search warrant involved a number of lies.
In the original warrant obtained on Jan. 28, the lead case agent, Officer Gerald Goines, wrote that a confidential informant bought heroin at the house the day before the drug raid. The informant also allegedly saw heroin and a weapon, which appeared to be a 9mm handgun, as he was buying the suspected drugs at the house.
In that warrant, the informant allegedly returned to Goines with a brown powder substance, telling him that it was called boy, which is slang for heroin. The confidential informant also said the substance he allegedly bought at the home was packed in a large quantity of plastic baggies.
The Houston no-knock raid was characterized as an ambush by drug dealers. The evidence did not support that conclusion.
The two homeowners killed had no criminal record. Dennis Tuttle was a Navy veteran. His wife, Rhogena Nicholas, was a supporter of President Trump. They had been married for 20 years and lived in their modest home in Houston for the same 20 years.
The gun battle started when police broke

“The war being waged is anti-gun, not anti-drug.”
Perhaps, but the excuse the cops use for why they need paramilitary squads kicking down doors in every town in America is “the drug war”, not the “gun war”.
“If they had drugs ready to plant, it indicates premeditation.”
“Drop drugs” like “drop guns.” Might have had some handy, “just in case.”
The No Knock would never have been obtained had the police not lied. It’s absurd to attack No Knock warrants when the problem was that it was obtained fraudulently.
Not absurd at all. Many of us think all 'no-knock' warrants are fatally flawed from inception. If no-knock warrants were disallowed, his lies would not have been effective, so again, it's not absurd at all.

Houston is a “No Go” town.
I only go to Houston as a captive airline passenger on a multi-hop flight these days.

Bullchit. They insist on heavy firepower and armor because the targets are said to be ‘arned’.
People have always been armed in this country. It wasn’t until the government decided it needed to “stamp out” drugs at any cost that the cops got militarized.
They can buy a bullhorn or learn to code.
These repeated no-knock executions best end!
I've said for a long time modern police are trained to be sociopaths.
This whole case stinks to high heaven. When it went down the way Houston PD talked about it made no sense and then their lack of information made it more suspicious.
If it is the middle of the night and you kick my door down, dressed in black, carry weapons and start a rush in my house we are probably going to have a gun fight. If I get woke up by your egress onto my property and you are dressed in black with no clearly identifiable markings I am going to make your house entry painful and costly because I don’t know you are cops.
If I see flashing blue lights from cruisers and you knock on my door I am going to answer the door quickly and try and determine what is going on, unarmed more than likely. No-knock raids are something that should be used once in a blue moon, not as a common practice because too many things can go wrong. You break in and kill my parents because you or your informant screwed up and you offer a pitiful sorry, well that won’t get it with me, someone has to pay one way or the other.
If that's what it takes to prevent police from endangering the lives of NOT-terrorists, then yeah.
If you don't like the principles this country was founded on: GET OUT!
Something quite like that. (Convincing someone they are crazy is gaslighting, but convincing them they are an android is a (Philip K.) Dick move...)
Not him, but you get the idea...
Do a google news search of Houston PD. It’s about as dirty as one gets.
My goodness. You really are a retired cop. Disgusting that you can still defend this. What a POS.
Further, every no-knock warrant has to be approved of by a judge. No judge would approve one for some random drug user. And, I couldn't care less if drug dealers are cleansed from the earth. Drug trafficking kills more than 70,000 Americans a year.
Absolutely. Every cop on the raid deserves 25 in prison, and the police chief should be sacked.
