"The Green Beret’s” was the worst movie John Wayne was ever in and possibly in the top ten worst movies of all time."

Ok, it may not have been his best but tell me that you didn't have a tear well up in your eye when the little Vietnamese orphan Hamchuck is running from helicopter to helicopter looking for his 'Peterson'? When John Wayne tells him that he had to be strong? C'mon that was good stuff! And the song Ballad of the Green Berets was awesome. Heck, it even gets this old Jarhead humming along to an Army Song!!

I loved the Duke. By far my favorite actor growing up. Watching Sands of Iwo Jima the first time on a late night movie channel as a boy was one of the reasons I made a career out of the Marine Corps. I wanted to be Sgt Stryker!! (minus the alcoholism, failed marriage and ruined career)

There were a few good moments true but overall the movie was torturously contrived and even Wayne couldn’t salvage it.

Now that you have given away the store so to speak. If you had an about page, we might have known much sooner. Thanks for your service.
