This is a really big deal, because for the first time, one of the major broadsheets is practically calling for the appointment of a Special Counsel to investigate the FBI.

Nope. They call on Barr to give a speech.

Seriously.

Pfffff.

The American people have largely taken the disruptive Trump Presidency in stride

We deplorables are not taking it in stride. We voted for it, expected it, and are pleased when Trump disrupts the best laid plans of deepsters.

“It was Rod Rosenstein who wrote the letter to Trump saying Comey must be fired to protect morale inside the FBI and DOJ. So why then does McCabe says he was shocked at the firing and collaborated with RR on what to do about it? “

It was obvious what they were doing at the time. Comey’s firing was a fait acomplis. Both sides wanted him gone. So, in good rat bastard fashion(never let a good crisis go to waste), they used the firing to get a special counsel coup up and running. IOWs, McCabe is lying about being shocked. Their mission was to always get Trump by any means necessary.

The ‘insurance policy’? In other words, if Trump wins they orchestrate a scheme such as this - get Trump to fire Comey and then use that as a pretext for the Special Counsel?

In retrospect it fits, even if it was obvious to you at the time. To me it was and is POTUS prerogative to fire the FBI director. Even Comey admits that much. But they had to make a big show of it to make their case to the public. Besides POTUS prerogative, Comey gave Trump a lot of reasons for firing as I mentioned a few above. Sneaking in to interview Flynn under false pretext, dropping that Dossier on Trump and saying it was all unverified but having used it as the basis for the FISA Warrants to spy on Trump etc. The only shock was that it took Trump that long to kick him to the curb.

Yes. They were going to get a special counsel one way or the other.

Jeff Sessions was the insurance policy. He brought in rotten rod and ultimately mueller. Recused himself and made them defacto AGs—In charge and at large in the DOJ. None of that happened by chance.

A massive conspiracy by the corrupt state and the uniparty.

Remember, this is the FBI that would kill a woman while holding her baby in Idaho, and burning children to death in Waco not to mention other atrocities. Maybe they were afraid of what Trump would find under their rug that is even worse.

Yes, so it begs the question as to why Trump would appoint Ruby Ridge washer Barr. .. is he trying to buy peace and hoping too much from the deep state?

This business of government salvation is a sick one

No, Trump nominated RR. Yes, I blame Sessions for inaction, since even after everyone knew that RR was in on the FISA fraud, Sessions supported him, but I would say a better explanation is that Sessions let it happen. In that sense, Sessions could have been part of the insurance policy.

No, Sessions picked Rotten Rod for his DAG and not by chance either. This has been for years.

Sessions is a high treason co-conspirator. Catch up

Sessions couldn’t nominate a a deputy AG. Are you saying he talked Trump into it? What is your source?

Trump nominated him on the advice of ‘his’ treasonous rat bastard of an AG, Jeff Sessions. Trump did not choose Rotten Rod for DAG—Sessions did.

This is not hard.

I agree that RR turned out to be a t*rd. At the time I didn’t know that would happen. But the only senators to vote against his confirmation were Dems. Are all the GOP senators holding office at that time “high treason co-conspirators?”
