A major storm will bring snow, rain, ice or a wintry mix to more than 200 million Americans beginning Tuesday and continuing through Wednesday night, impacting roughly 60 percent of the U.S. population.
Parts of 39 of the 48 contiguous United States will be impacted by the massive storm, including every state east of the Mississippi River. The storm will have such a large impact on so many because it will reach parts of 26 of the 30 most populous states.
As the large storm rolls up the Tennessee and Ohio valleys at midweek, it will bring snow, ice and difficult travel to the Midwest and Northeast. The storm will then reorganize along the mid-Atlantic coast before heading toward the Maritime provinces of Canada.

I just want to wipe the eye gookum of its adorable lil face
I stayed at the Best Western Longbranch and at the time, I was drinking Michelob beer. This was one of the "fancier" beers at the time - well before the age of microbrews. I think only Lowenbrau and the imported Heineken were considered superior to Michelob. Remember those brown bottles with the funny shaped neck.
Across from the Longbranch Best Western was a shopping mall right out of "Fast Times At Ridgemont High". It was called the Lindale Mall. I used to walk over there all the time after class and half the girls there looked either like Pat Benatar or Stevie Nicks. They had a Tape World and there I purchased the debut album by "Asia" as well as a tape of a New Wave band called "Men At Work". I believe "Business As Usual" was the name of that tape.
But I would often go down to the bar (I just became of legal drinking age) and order up a Michelob like a pro. There, I would munch on my bowl of complimentary pretzels that were generously refilled by the bartender. Eventually, I would order another Michelob along with a burger and fries. After all, I was getting reimbursed so I hung on to all the receipts.
There was some cold weather out there in Cedar Rapids. But we never got any big snowstorms. It snowed often though. Usually an inch or two at a time. One Saturday morning, I walked clear into Marion, Iowa, listening to my "Men At Work" and "Asia" through my earphones with my Sony Walkman. I also think I had a Van Halen tape.
Those Walkmen sucked through the batteries. But it was the iPod of that era. And I had one.
FYI over there its just called food
Is it unusual for major winter storms to move from the south to the north? Is this a Mexican vortex? Montezumas new revenge?
Another reason to build the wall
More proof of man made global warming.
Here in Minnesota they are using special plow trucks to edge the road shoulders using blades mounted at the 4ft level level to shove back the snow berms further to make room for even more snow to come.
That’s a sign for a bad winter around here.
We cancel schools 2 days in advance of snow that never happens. Granted 2 snow flakes and we have 1000 car accidents here but WTF?
‘When I was young we had BRUTAL winters in the Midwest what we didnt have was WALL to WALL media coverage telling everyone how AWFUL it was!!”
I remember the blizzards of the 70’s. How did we survive?
Two reasons for the hype:
1. 24 hour cable.
2. The green agenda. The more storm warnings there are (four inches of snow is now a storm), the more they can reinforce the climate change narrative.
“Only going to be 66 degrees in Southern, Georgia tomorrow. Brr, wheres my blanket?”
37, rain, and 15-20 mph wind in NE Georgia. I am under my blanket now.
“...and, the weather radar is also picking up some incoming ICBMs, so I wouldn’t sweat the vortex.”
200 million obliterated by 200 trillion bits of white death falling from the sky.
I miss George.
“Save us, Occasional Cortex, SAVE US!!!!”
Hahaha! She saved some of the tip money from her co-workers.
NJ has a POS SOB Governor who loves snowstorms because it gives him cover to keep crushing the state, avoid controversy and of course spend a lot of money on the “emergency”.
It was a joke. I usually wear shorts most days no matter how cold it is here.
And in other Breaking News:
Nearly 7 Billion in the path of it the next solar flare.
Maybe Al Gore can blow some hot wind on them.
