The Trump administration will launch an effort to decriminalize homosexuality in countries where it is still illegal, as part of a diplomatic push for LGBTQ rights and an effort to isolate Iran, which persecutes homosexuals. NBC News reported Tuesday that the effort is to be led by U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, a staunch Trump supporter who is among the highest-ranking openly gay officials ever to serve in the U.S. government. Grenell is currently among the front-runners to succeed Nikki Haley as UN Ambassador.
U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, the highest-profile openly gay person in the Trump administration, is leading the effort, which kicks off Tuesday evening in Berlin. The U.S. embassy is flying in LGBT activists from across Europe for a strategy dinner to plan to push for decriminalization in places that still outlaw homosexuality mostly concentrated in the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean.
Although the decriminalization strategy is still being hashed out, officials say its likely to include working with global organizations like the United Nations, the European Union and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, as well as other countries whose laws already allow for gay rights. Other U.S. embassies and diplomatic posts throughout Europe, including the U.S. Mission to the E.U., are involved, as is the State Departments Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor.

Bad move, Mr. President. Bad move.
Because it turns down the screws on countries with militant Islamic populations.
Why? Mass media and entertainment in the U.S. is starting to make it sound mandatory.......
So you missed:
Defeating ISIS
Denouncing socialism
Forcing fair trade
Making NATO pay up
Don’t be an idiot.
this certainly doesn’t put PDJT in a good light
[Bad move, Mr. President. Bad move.]
Wait!
Is this fake news?
Are we falling for it?
The Republic is sinking and the President’s enemies are at war against him and this? The “prison reform” was bad enough. Who advises this President? He could find the cure for Aids and make LGBT-infinity a cabinet position and the gay mafia along with the left will still hate him.
I’m trying to figure this one out. Yes, obama got a lot of votes for being pro-LGBT, but he also got a lot disgusted shade thrown his way for it.
If I were to guess I would say this is a calculated political move that won’t alienate most of his base (there will be a few) but will make it easier for a large segment of the dem registered voters to secretly vote for him.
Trump is not racist or homophobic as they call it. Christians simply call homosexuality a sin without actually saying you can do it and be a Christian. The fact is 10% of any given population is Gay and has been, well, probably forever after Adam and Eve. Just the thought of it gives me the chills but they exist. No sense denying it.
I guess I see this as Trump signalling he is the US President for everyone and not just those who voted for him.
Agreed. All of us social conservatives are profoundly disappointed.
Agreed. All of us social conservatives are profoundly disappointed.
But to those for whom Trump can do no wrong, I guess ... he can do no wrong.
Pain in the arse? You must be doing something wrong.s/
Nope. No problems here in America. Nada. We’ve solved it all, and now it’s time to focus more on international homosexuality. Bet all the LGBTQUAs will be out voting for Trump in 2020 now!! This will make them love President Trump! Just wait!
The last thing the left wants is for Republicans to “evolve” on gay rights issue.
Much more important work to be done, definitely.
Would be nice if the LGBTQ crowd went back into their closet(s), BTW.
You said its all Trump focuses on. You’re an idiot
Newsflash....Trump is not a practicing Christian. We knew this ahead of time.
So the take the ball and go home types are once again bitching because Trump wants to apply pressure to despotic Muslim regimes to not murder gays.
Just. Go. Home.
