Way back when... if someone called me a spaghetti-bending-WOP, I’d laugh and tell him he was drunken Mc. In a weird way we kind of made our differences small, and usually laughed it off.

First thing I do when I see a headline like this is to check to see if it was outside the US. It always is, seeing as we have a first amendment. Our founders had no idea just how important that thing was going to become in an age of insanity.

In theory yes, but we now have hate crime laws. History will prove that passing hate crimes laws led to the destruction of the first amendment. Now all they have to do is declare your offensive speech to be hate and associate some trivial act with it to make it a hate crime, then you’re a criminal and it’s OK to throw the book at you.
