Democratic presidential candidate Cory Booker told reporters Sunday that he would withhold judgment on the alleged attack on "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett after calling the incident "an attempted modern-day lynching" when it was first reported last month.
"I’m gonna withhold until all the information actually comes out from on-the-record sources," the senator from New Jersey said after meeting with voters in Rochester, N.H. "We know in America that bigoted and biased attacks are on the rise in a serious way, and we actually even know in this country that since 9/11, the majority of the terrorist attacks on our soil have been right-wing terrorist attacks -- the majority of them white supremacist attacks."
Booker cited the deadly shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue this past October as well as the June 2015 shooting at a historically black church in Charleston, S.C.
"What we're seeing is attacks on people because they're different and we all need to join together and condemn those attacks and the hatred and the bigotry that sources them," Booker said.

The problem for people like Booker will be that liberal politicians and the media tried to pass off the hoax of the Covington High School boys onto America. Those boys were certainly "different" from the likes of Booker and Smollett, and from Nathan Phillips and the Black Hebrew Israelites, but the boys were instantly "condemned" as the attackers.
Now we have Booker rushing to defend Smollett before the facts are in, and now slow-walking his retraction and apology in light of new facts.
Next time, Booker would be better off not rushing to condemn in the first place, and wait for the facts to develop, especially when the story involves people who aren't "different" from him.

Yeah, NOW he withholds judgment, AFTER it is revealed he got taken in by a hoax and has egg on his face. (that is egg, isn’t it?)
It's possible. There are people who think that way, but based on the evidence to date, this stunt was so poorly conceived and poorly executed that it's hard to believe very many would have thought this was something that could hold together and not be found out by investigators.
Jussi paid his friends to stage a lynching. Yes he is guilty and yes, he should be arrested.

Why didn’t he say that when the hoax was first announced? It’s just that the first announcement fit his agenda, now that it is being exposed, he’s backing away.

Of course CNN and WaPo justify his unwanted groping of a female breast as being okay because he said he was sorry for it.

#8. Yes, “faking a hate crime is a hate crime in itself”, but so is Booker’s posing as a U.S. Senator who actually cares about his crime/drug and corruption ridden state.
If there was ever a 25th Amendment-like situation for Senators, Booker’s words not only would invoke it, they would SHOUT to the skies for it to be invoked.
