GHW Bush began the importation of Somalis.
His “adopted” son Clinton and his son George W. continued it.
Obama did too, but most of them were already there.
As I remember Bush I was “stampeded” into Somalia & allowing in “refugees” by the constant showing of the Somalia Crisis (Somalia Clan Wars) on TV with the accompanying starvation (TV pics of starving babies!). Then add in the constant caterwauling “Bush & Republicans are racist if we don’t intervene!” by the Congressional Black Caucus. In short the race card was going full tilt and Bush I’s reaction was that of just a another typical Republican cowering in the corner from the use of the card. Yes Bush was weak on this but so was every Republican in their reaction to “the card”.
“The card” has only recently expired - lost its sting! Over played & people are sick of hearing it. It still works on some GOP’ers who are advised by beltway establishment types. However the trend is against them now,
