Well, if Paul Ryan had done his job as Speaker (he did nothing that I can discern other than serve his Bushmasters in the corporate class and Establishment), quitting early to ensure that they got even more, we wouldn’t have to worry about the President exercising his emergency powers.
I suspect that if the Republicans win back the House, Speaker McCarthy is not going to be much of an improvement over Speaker Ryan.
