Military trial or send them to Gitmo. Why release them?
To: blueplum
They should release them. In the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either satire or opinion. Or both.)
To: plain talk
The U.S. has no business occupying Syria in the first place.
We certainly have no legal right to be arresting, detaining, or doing anything with European residents we "capture" there.

Put them in a boat, and have an “unfortunate” boating accident.

What does history predict?
They will release them sooner rather than later.

Donald J. Trump Verified account @realDonaldTrump 3h3 hours ago The United States is asking Britain, France, Germany and other European allies to take back over 800 ISIS fighters that we captured in Syria and put them on trial. The Caliphate is ready to fall. The alternative is not a good one in that we will be forced to release them........ ....The U.S. does not want to watch as these ISIS fighters permeate Europe, which is where they are expected to go. We do so much, and spend so much - Time for others to step up and do the job that they are so capable of doing. We are pulling back after 100% Caliphate victory!

Big mistake to let these dudes live . They don’t deserve justice , they deserve death . Eradicate them entirely . Gas um , ok
To: blueplum
Put them on trial where? The cases would be laughed out of any U.S. courtroom.
Capturing ISIS terrorists in Syria is like having the Chinese arrest U.S. criminals in Mexico.

We wouldn’t be sending Syrian nationals to a foreign country for trial. We’d be sending, for example, German nationals who traveled to Syria to commit atrocities back to Germany for a military trial - no laughing allowed. Or Germany can just send a firing squad over to Syria and dispatch their traitors on the spot, works either way.

The big mistake started under Dubya in 2002 when we didnt deal with illegal combatants on the ground in Afghanistan, and instead started shipping them to Gitmo.

No that is historically incorrect - the ship was caught in a terrible storm and sheltered in the lee of a nearby island. After the anchor was set a very awful, powerful, really terrible strong gust of wind caused the anchor to drag and take all the prisoners chained to it overboard - it was just too fast to be halted. We all mourn their loss ...
