My question - why did they return to the USA?
Surely someone told them how this case had turned into national news and police investigation. So why return to USA to face possible arrest and prosecution?
Did Smollett’s check not clear? Did police contact then in Nigeria? Did they reach out to police? Copping a plea to protect their green cards?
Did they figure that they’d be in deeper dutch in Nigeria than here?
