Yup, exactly.
He didn't put it out there. TDS has been an excuse since election night. Liberals are blaming black on black crime in Chicago over the anger of living in a country where Donald Trump is president.
Liberals are using the same reasoning that Islam uses to execute atheists and Christians who defend their beliefs.
Islam reflects traditional tribal mores, where social conformity and cohesion is considered as important as care/harm moral rules on not stealing, raping and murdering.
When someone violates the social rules that the West considers a matter of choice, you might be scoffed, shunned or celebrated as an individual.
In the rest of the world, where social order has a higher value and group rights are the source of your rights if you have any at all, it is a moral obligation to live out your assigned life script and accorded stereotype. It is a sin and a crime not to wear the right clothes, marry outside the tribe, and violate social rules.
And it is a threat to social order, to people’s lives to challenge the social order. To reject the dominant faith unless you’re accorded a carve-out, to spread a new faith, to challenge the ideology on which authorities rest, you are a threat to public safety and can be killed.
This is echoed by Christian governments that prosecuted people of the wrong sect, because the King is the head of the church and to belong to another church - another authority - is treason. For liberals, to not raise government to a point of faith and believe in social justice IS treason, because you have another allegiance.
But liberals are mimicking Shariah law and Islam down to the word choice. If you spread Christianity or simply defend your beliefs in public in a Muslim theocracy, you are sentenced to death because you’ve assaulted the sacred souls of the believers. Your disbelief is equated with violence, attempted murder.
To authoritarian liberals, they use the similar reasoning but different words. Express your beliefs, and you’re attacking them. Continue to argue your point or argue why they are wrong, and you’re canceling them, you’re invalidating their existence. All of that means “you’re killing us, you’re trying to kill us” if not outright “you’re threatening my soul, and that’s worse than killing me”. That logic is why they say everyone else must be silenced as an act of public safety.
They’re bringing back blasphemy laws as hate speech. Liberals already say they and they alone are love, compassion, smart, kind. And liberals hold the power to define these words so the good ones only apply to them and the bad ones always apply to the enemy.
Every strong opposing view can be banned as hate speech. Moderate opinions can be censored as stupid, while those who hold them are unfit to teach our kids or hold a position of authority. It is an ideological litmus test.
A lot of the younger generation’s religious investment in social justice/liberalism is because they’ve never heard conservative views. They’ve only heard nasty hateful stereotypes and act as if they are sacred truth.
Worse, you can have your “own truth” when someone else proves you wrong with facts. If they try to prove you wrong, they’re attacking you - and your tribe. Organize the lynch mob to kill the blasphemer. “Bash a fash” is a threaten when they label EVERYONE else a fash. And while one liberal is a weak scaredy cat, they’re already taught to find safety and take action in numbers.
Whether organized reputation demolition or protests in front of someone’s home, organized groups blocking entry to a hallway or voting down social media accounts to get them kicked off the internet - our public digital forum - they do it.
These tactics DO work, and are working.
The only saving grace is that the lack of corrective feedback means they’re getting more extreme. When a lesbian condemning a male rapist is kicked off an LGBT panel for not using the rapists preferred pronouns and has to speak at the Heritage Foundation instead, the moderate middle has to side with conservatives because they no longer fit in with the control-left.
These liberals are not “deranged” or crazy. They are in a thought bubble that reinforces, while they compete to be as morally pure as possible. They think it makes them BETTER.
