I tend to respect the opinions of Mr. Horowitz; but this stunt - “amnesty in the details” (of a freaking temporary appropriations bill) - torqued me to no end, because he knows better.

You need further expound on your “problematic” remark about Ingraham.

I never was “liberal,” as best as I am able to recall - and I grew up in a family of (Moderate?) Democrats. My parents were of the WWII generation - and exceptionally patriotic. My Dad absolutely despised “hippies.”

The older I get, the more conservative my views have tended; the more clearly I realize how insane our culture has become, and; the less patience I have for bullsh*t - especially the idiocy of the type I read from Coulter’s ilk, and those on FR who parrot her insufferable self-serving rubbish.

As for the “young folks” ...

Honestly, I don’t share your optimism. I am aware that my opinion is usually considered a cynical cliche’ - but ... My God! Transgendersim and same-sex “marriage?” If there were any two agents more culturally depraved and individually destructive, or more indicative of our nation’s demise, I cannot suppose any having a greater impact than these two, of which the “young folks” seem hellbent on affirming and increasing the propagation.

I think I was speaking of David Horowitz and you are speaking of Daniel. Daniel, I’m not familiar with.

Ingraham needs an audience. I think she plays to a mythical middle in a divided world in order to garner more audience. I also am unsure if she knows what she’s on about.

Coulter is just an attention whore, IMO.

I was always tolerant of gays. I am an artist and they were part of my world. I remember the times without access to abortion, stayed with a friend in college while she nearly hemorrhaged to death while recovering in a motel from a humanitarian MD’s abortion. But, I draw the line at abortion for convenience and in the 3rd trimester. I can’t even speak to this day-of-delivery abomination.

My parents were economically liberal. Socially progressive for their time. They were very unhappy I praised Reagan.

The culture is unbeatable. When people are young (under 40 from my aged perspective), they follow their friends, for the most part. Changes come from inside. I know conservative married lesbians (at least one of the pair is, anyway). After 40, it seems to me people get stuck and just continue in their respective beliefs and those become more entrenched.

Transgenderism, IMO, is a fad induced by those who desire to see the shattering of Western Civilization. Destructive, certainly. Misery-inducing, as well. I don’t pretend to understand it. Gay marriage? Well, people desire to be accepted and marriage is one of the rites of passage, so they all want it even if they are not seen as entitled. For cultural depravity and personal destruction, though, I think this endless hatred and the accompanying acting out in vile terms and graphic threats is the worst. Orwellian and also similar to the foaming rage seen from Muslims against *infidels*.

SIGH. It is a new world and I have withdrawn in large part because I cannot fit into it.
