Chicago police have arrested two Nigerian brothers, Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo (pictured below), and are calling them potential suspects in the alleged attack against actor Jussie Smollett.
The arrest could be problematic for the victim if the police request a line-up to identify the perpetrators. Previously, the actor stated the attack was carried out by two white males wearing MAGA hats. Based on an investigative review of the alleged attackers they do not appear to meet the profile.

Smollett has been proven to be a liar.
It appears these two have been arrested as accomplices to the fraudulent charge.
If they have been arrested they are not “potential” suspects, potential perpetrators, maybe, but that does not seem to be a term in common use.
Jussie was probably quite fond of the shirtless one.
We have Nigerians wearing MAGA hats and screaming “This is Trump country” in CHICAGO.

Yep, they had to arrest them by 5:30 today or cut them loose because they had been detained for 48 hours.
Now the pressure starts for a plea deal contingent on them telling them the whole sordid story of Smollett’s complicity in the staged attack.
Those two are just really good actors. They should get work acting as white patriots in Hamilton.

Will Smollett throw them under the bus rather than admit to faking everything?

The media isn't explaining this correctly. If they are under the 48 hour deadline, they are ALREADY under arrest, and formal charges have to be filed in that time period. If charges aren't filed they have to be cut loose. However, charges can still be filed and a warrant issued and they can be arrested again.
