The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office says the suspect who was in a standoff in a UPS truck was shot and killed after attempting to run from the truck.

Santa Clara County Sheriff deputies and San Jose police were in a standoff with the suspect at North First Street and West Trimble Road after a slow speed chase.

Deputies surrounded a UPS truck in San Jose following a chase on Thursday evening.

Friends have identified the suspect as Mark Morasky. They said they were on the phone with him during the standoff and talked him into surrendering, claiming he was prepared to go to jail before he was shot.

The thing that really irked me are the snowflakes this reporter thought to interview for the piece, claiming that he was a good man and the cops overreacted (after getting shot at, dealing with a hostage situation, and pursuing the perp who had the gun on him).

Thank you loony left. This is what you have wrought where every idiot sees fit to excuse all crimes and make LEOs the bad guys.

Yep, fortunately I left work early and avoided all that chaos.

It’s just a matter of time before another dipshit perches himself atop the 680/101 overpass. When that happens, it takes me 2 hrs to get home from work which is just under 10 miles.

fortunately I work the early hours of 5-2 and avoid most of the traffic BS around here.. I live ~14 miles from work and it normally takes 20-25 minutes each way.. (Cambrian to Milpitas)↔
It cold be a lot worse.
