Faulty premise. He did not have "total control". There were a good chunk of Republicans that didn't like the disruption to the status quo, were in the process of screwing over America (TPP etc), and were passive-aggressively resisting Trump at every step.

Then again, I expect nothing less from Allahpundit.

You are correct. Anyone who says Trump could have won a straight “wall” vote in the first two years by definition does not know what he’s talking about.
