No they weren’t - the subsidies are “fake money” and the state and city would’ve seen an immediate and long term cash influx.

If amazon signed on the city didn’t lose money - it just didn’t gain certain money AT FIRST - later it could tax the heck out of Amazon.

But with Amazon not going there the city doesn’t get any jobs at all.

That’s why socialist deblasio supported it.
