Field tests are somewhat unreliable and are not admissible in most states for evidentiary purposes. Lab results are required to prove the chemical composition of an item. Until lab results are obtained the proper documentation on an inventory is “green leafy” substance or “white powder.”
For criminal evidence in court I’d prefer a lab
Field test kits for cocaine and derivatives is quite reliable
It’s what probation and parole services use
They’d be disappointed with my four large bags of ‘green leafy’ substance when they discover it’s only catnip.
