Mandy Bailey fired from KWSO 7News: Huge backlash after ‘hang in there’ word game prompts dismissal

Meteorologist Mandy Bailey has been fired from Oklahoma’s KWSO 7News — prompting a huge backlash from viewers.

Bailey was dismissed just hours after she played a “mind mixer” word game on air, asking viewers to guess the answer to a conundrum showing the word “THERE’ with a hangman’s noose hanging off the letter ‘T’.

The answer was “hang in there”, but the game prompted complaints from some viewers who branded it “inappropriate” and linked it to racism.

So, coat hangers will be banned soon, for containing the word “hang”. Then changing rooms... then it will be illegal to refer to coins as change.... children will be put in prison for playing Hangman... airplanes will be banned before the 10 year limit in the Green New Deal, because they cannot be placed in hangars anymore...

I only lived in Lawton when I was assigned to Ft. Sill for Artillery Officer Basic Course back in the 70s so I’m not up to date on their advertiser mix on TV. However, if it’s anything like either OKC or Tulsa, it would only take a couple of car dealers or local furniture stores pulling their ads to really screw up the advertising cash flow. A well-organized Facebook page could bring some heat on those advertisers who continue to use KSWO despite this bone-headed firing over a couple of comments from the usual snowflakes.
