Hungary’s prime minister has announced a raft of measures aimed at boosting the country’s declining birth rate and reducing immigration. Giving his annual State of the Nation address Sunday, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced a seven-point “Family Protection Action Plan” designed to promote marriage and families.

Measures announced included waivers on personal income tax for women raising at least four children for the rest of their lives and subsidies for large families to buy larger cars. The ‘action plan’ also extended a loan program to help families with at least two children to buy homes. Every woman under 40 will also be eligible for a preferential loan when she first gets married.

If you want more of a behavior, subsidize it. If you want less, remove the tax incentives.

In the 1970s, over population was the huge manufactured crisis our politicians were foisting on us

They embarked on a legislative agenda of punishing economic policy against family size for responsible, middle class adults while instituting welfare policies that subsidized an irresponsible , uneducated and welfare dependent underclass to produce unwed mothers with multiple children all by different fathers

As a result, we have an exploding welfare class with not enough productive workers to support both them and the retiring baby boomers who are going to live far longer than previous generations

The solution - import even more illiterate, uneducated welfare dependents from the dysfunctional Third World to explode the population of the US from an “ overpopulated” 220 million middle class Americans to over 400 million people, a huge plurality of whom are illiterate, welfare dependent Third World illegal and legal immigrants - most of whom have no desire to Americanize or assimilate into American culture

I hear you! I was around during the 70s as well, which is why I no longer buy into every latest disaster prediction that comes along.

In Russia, abortion is legal up to the 12th week. According to UN 2010 data, Russia had the highest number of abortions per woman of child bearing age in the world.

In 2009 China reported 13 million abortions out of a population of 1.3 billion compared to Russia’s 1.2 million out of a population of 143 million.

Russia’s abortion laws are more restrictive than the US. The US is one of 7 countries that allows abortion past 5 months and one of four that allows it right up to birth.

Isten ald meg a Magyart

The first line of the Hungarian anthem. My Hungarian father passed away in 1984 so he never saw the freeing of Eastern Europe when the wall fell in 1989. When I visited Hungary in 1996 I sat gazing at the Parliament House across the Danube river and prayed that line. I think God has answered my prayer.

Thanks for that. I had to look up the English translation. What a stunning anthem. https://lyricstranslate.com/en/himnusz-national-anthem-hungary-hymn-rough-centuries-hungarian-people-national-anthem-hungary.html

I have a Hungarian grandfather, but he was long gone before I was born, and I know little of that part of my history. Thank you for sharing a bit of yours.

YW. If you ever visit Budapest you can see two Americans honored. 1. Elvis Presley has a square named for him because in 1956 he expressed sympathy on the Ed Sullivan show for the ill fated Hungarian revolt against the Soviets. 2. There is a statue of Ronald Reagan near the Parliament House for obvious reasons.
