They lie to make themselves feel good/important. They never got a swat cross the head while they were kids to stop them from feeling that the world revolves around them.
Narcissism is taught/learned from childhood in most cases.
I got a whuppin put on me, as did my siblings, that I was just a cog in the wheel and not “THEE” cog. No better and no worse than anyone else.
