“California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Tuesday that the state will no longer pursue plans to build an estimated $77 billion high-speed rail line between Los Angeles and San Francisco”

The politicians who promoted funding for supposed “high speed rail” never planned to complete the project. The plan was simply to issue billions of dollars in bonds and get billions of dollars of federal money. Democrat politicians have either stolen or wasted billions of dollars already. There is no plan to return any of the billions of dollars to taxpayers.

The original estimates were about 39 Billion. The cost estimate has been climbing ever since then. Months ago, someone on this site suggested that instead of building the trains and tracks, just buy airline tickets for those passengers. The estimate then was in the 90s of Billions. Damn, I wish I was in on the money grab.
