Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.) said on Monday that he will oppose President Trump's attorney general nominee, becoming the first Republican to come out as a "no" vote on William Barr.
Paul told Politico that he had concerns about Barr's record on privacy, calling him a "chief advocate for warrantless surveillance of U.S. citizens."
A spokesman for Paul didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. The libertarian-leaning GOP senator had previously raised concerns about Barr, who also served as attorney general to President George H.W. Bush.

Agree - Barr is a gun grabber.
Almost anyone associated with Bush is bound to be an awful choice - he was a establishment/Deep State president.
" The libertarian-leaning GOP senator"
should be
"The GOP-leaning libertarian senator"...
THere’s a difference between supporting, and BLINDLY supporting.
Some of us have the brainpower to support the President while disagreeing with some of his appointments and tactics. NO human ever is worthy of unthinking support and unquestioning loyalty.
No, but the country is worthy and Trump is the best chance to fix the mess that we in. I don't understand why Republicans, Conservatives, and Freepers can't figure that out. What is the difference between a Trump hater and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez? A: She is actually helping Trump.
Absolutely right my friend. Rand is a big supporter of Trump but disagrees with him from time to time.
You are being an insulting twit.
Of COURSE, we can figure out that he’s the best choice. But a person is an evil nitwit if they think that there isn’t a big difference between that, and thinking that he’s right on everything and/or deserves unquestioning support when he’s wrong.
If their cognitive capacity doesn’t allow them to see the millions of shades of gray between that black and white then they are more dangerous than AOC.
I’ll die, I’ll kill, before I ever blindly and unquestioningly support another human; when they’re wrong, they’re wrong, and I’ll say so to ANYONE’S face.
You are completely clueless. Trump is not engaged in some collegiate debating society. He is in a fight to the death (politically speaking) with Democrats and Republicans in Washington who will do anything possible to destroy him because he is threatening their little elitist world of corruption and graft that exists in Washington. Trump can prevail in this fight, but only if the majority of the American people will stand behind what he is doing.
I agree with what Trump is doing, so it’s not hard for me to support him, but everyone has to choose a side and the other side, the so called Deep Swamp, are not working for the good of the country.
I’ll put you down as a supporter of the other side. You can certainly take that position if you wish. I hope that they do not win.
Those who succumb to the cult of personality are more dangerous than the merely misguided.
Again, you are demonstrating your ignorance. I don’t like Trump, personally, haven’t done so since I first become aware of him in the 70’s when I was living in Southern New York. I like, and support what he promised to do during the campaign and what he has done since he became President.
I am all in with Trump. How about you? I am all in for Free Republic. Are you? I financially support Free Republic. Do you?
I agree with him on some things. I don’t on others. If I think he- or anyone- is wrong, I say so. I owe no one anything. I’m not ‘all in’ with anyone who doesn’t split the stone of the temple when they come back to earth.
