There were so many movies made on Kauai, but South Pacific used landmarks that are still identifiable today.

“There is Nothing Like a Dame” was filmed on the Hanalei Town Pier.

“Bali Hai” was filmed on the Na Pali coast using the pointy peaks of a cliff called Makana.

And “I’m gonna wash that man right out of my hair” was filmed on Lumahai Beach, which has a vicious riptide. (YIKES!)

A lot of Native Kauai People were extras in the movie, and, even though they have aged a bit, were awesome in the simple production that only had piano accompaniment. We ate with the cast and talked with the musicians after the show and had a WONDERFUL time.

I hope they are still showing this...I haven’t been there since 2013.

What memories. My favorite song is "This Nearly Was Mine".

Did you see that one being filmed?
