Thanks for this update. Never forget. The ISIS were as cruel as the British-stoked relatives of Hiawatha in central and western New York State during the Revolutionary war. Only the Oneidas were our allies, and they were very effective on our behalf. Never forget. My grandpa lived on the Salamanca reservation for many years.
My local Church has a mission relationship with a Navajo Indian group in Western NM. We have shipped by local convoys to their location a number of times.

At the time of WWII there was no written language in Navajo (It came about in the 1970's), that is why we used some of them as Code Talkers during the war. It was spoken in a very narrow area and it was better and quicker than other methods of field communication security.
There is also an issue with Bible translation. Older Navajo spoke Navajo but learned to read and write it as adults. As time went by the importance of the written Navajo language it seems to be less important, most of the younger learn English too.
