I hate to even drive through NM much less spend a penny there

I drove through NM a few years back, and I was amazed at the ickiness of so much of Albuquerque (think LA, here).

I was also unpleasantly surprised at the need for so much security at the motel in which I stayed, apparently crime pays in NM.

I had the exact same thoughts there too. I thought the artist towns are overblown. Too much of the same.
