Next time New Mexico NEEDS National Guard troops for ANYTHING it should be declined!!! I don’t think a state has any right to demand US MILITARY, Marines, Army, ect. withdraw from protecting the country, National Guard might be different, not sure!!!

No state has authority over US government troops. National Guard troops have two levels of authority over them...the lowest level is the state governor and the highest is the President of the US. If the National Guard was called into service by the President, the governor does not have the authority to over-ride or reverse the call-up.The President does, however, have the authority to over-ride a governor’s call-up. THAT question which authority rules was settled back in the 1950’s in Little Rock, Arkansas.
