The question is not "Why offend Black people?"
The question is: Should careers be destroyed, just because thirty years ago, someone did something that might have offended black people if they had noticed?
There is a huge jump from the common sense
"Do not offend when there is not need to do so." to
"Destroy the career of anyone who ever might have been shown to do something offensive."
