I had a '73 bug, heater worked fine. All the time. Had to disconnect the vent tubing in the summer. But it was toasty warm in the winter.

Poor little guy wouldn't pass inspection in 1991 due to rust on the frame, but great little get-around car.

The problem with mine was that on really cold days, it would 20 mins to warm up. That was about how long it took me to get to school.
