I don’t object to electric cars per se.

I object to the virtue signaling their owners/drivers project.

HEre in the snowy and cold northeast where they spread salt by the ton, I question the utility of owning such a vehicle. You get stuck in traffic because of an accident in the snow and you’re draining the battery just to keep warm. When said salt corrodes your electrical contacts and your car won’t drive, charge, or move you’ve got an expensive bill to make it road worthy again.

The battery is the problem with all of them. Musk however, has a severe quality problem too.
