It is a slippery slope when someone is pressured to leave their job because of a yearbook picture over 35 years ago.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I do not disagree, in general, with your statement; however. the issue with Northam is that he has a “pattern”, beginning at VMI with his “Coonman” nickname, into medical school with his blackface/KKK outfit(s), and into the PRESENT with his racist behavior. If he had “learned” from his experience back in 1984 & led an exemplary life where racism is concerned, he’d get a pass from most people. Instead, he refuses to shake a black Bishop’s hand, he uses the CNN Hoax regarding Charlottesville to throw vile racist ‘bombs’ at Gillespie, the Republicans & Trump, he uses the UGLIEST of racist ads against Gillespie (the pickup truck ad) & he continues to foment racial division & racist dialogue with his tweets/comments against Trump/Republicans, with the pile-on cheerleading of such Dem ‘stars’ as Kamala, Barack, etc.

Now, do the Dems care about the blackface/KKK stuff? No, they do not; however, Northam committed the most egregious “sin” against the one thing that is most sacred in the Dem party ... abortion/baby killing. He blew it with his radio interview - ripped the mask hiding the infanticide abomination right off of what this horror of a law would allow.

People who were horrified by what Northam said made sure that his past came to the surface and the Demon Rats took the bait & jumped on the “he’s a racist” bandwagon to foist Ralphie out of office and change the topic from infanticide. It’s EASY for them to do this because the Lt. Gov. is black, a former PP employee (no loss on the abortion/infanticide front) and even more radically Progressive than Ralph, who had to swing left to get elected. To make it an even sweeter deal for the Demon Rats, the Lt. Gov. can run for re-election whereas a full term governor cannot so Virginia could have a radical Progressive in the Governor’s chair for 7 years.

Northam will resign, I’m almost positive, but at the moment, he gets “nothing” if he does ... all downside for him. I think he’s holding the Dems hostage for more “favorable terms” .... they totally need to get rid of him because of the infanticide issue being brought front & center and it IS going to bleed over into the November elections as a major rallying cry for the pro-lifers & Republicans. Ralph at the moment is the ‘gift that keeps on giving’ to the opposition so he absolutely must be driven out of office.

Note: this is ‘local’ politics for me ... I’m not states away, commenting as an uninvolved observer.

Since you are from Virginia....

I think Northam revealed the next plan for the communists, which would be killing babies AFTER birth. Of course they’d deny it, and hey, maybe it isn’t that far yet but you don’t think it will be?

The communists/facists would love to be able to determine who lives or dies.

Further, how convenient to get rid of the guy based on some ancient yearbook picture. Because they got a black politico ready to step up and help pass the murder of children up to five years, plus all the other ways the blacks help Democrats.

The Dems don’t believe in such as elections. They believe that if they work it hard enough, they can get into office who they want.

Witness how they’re trying with Trump. Remember Watergate....a joke of that era.

Oh....and Bush the first and his no new taxes.

It’s how the communists/facists control elections by us silly citizens.

I don't have the slightest idea if Northam is a racist or not. I have seen no indication that it manifests itself in his public policy pronouncements and positions. Racism exists and can't be eradicated by passing laws. There is plenty of racism from the Black Caucus and many other public black leaders in and out of government. I don't want to live in a country where one's private thoughts are considered as crimes if they don't comport with the accepted morality. The term "racist" is tossed around gratuitously and often without merit. It is meant to smear and suppress free speech. As someone who has been deeply involved in the immigration issue, I have experienced firsthand such allegations because anyone who suggests that we should not tolerate illegal immigration and that we should reduce substantially legal immigration is a racist.

None of the examples you cited about Northam convince me he is a racist. Dem politicians of all stripes engage in identity politics. White privilege is the enemy.

I lived 36 years in the Commonwealth until I left in 2015. I was active in local Rep politics in Fairfax County. I watched VA be transformed from a solid red state to now a solid blue state. It has been close to ten years since a Rep won statewide office. Mass immigration and domestic migration from the Northeast has tipped the balance in favor of the Dems. I warned the GOP that this was coming for the reasons stated. I briefed one on one George Allen, Eric Cantor, Ed Gillespie, and a number of other candidates for office how to use immigration as a winning issue. They ignored my advice and now it is too late. Instead, the GOP in VA is focusing on outreach and adopting Dem positions.
