What kind of suprises me is that folks still talk about term limits for congress. It was tried and it was rejected. If anybody wants to continue to pursue it they will have to amend the constitution. I’m not saying it can’t be done, but it’s going to take an amendment.

Better to support my plan which is NO post office benefits for congressional reps and senators. No pensions, no health insurance, no of whatever else any of them get. Secret Service protection for ex-Potuses and immediate family for some length of time, that’s it. They can have a 401K, it could even be matched to the same extent as anyone elses can be, and that is it. A plan like this would have almost complete bi-partisan appeal.

I think this would, to a large extent, act as a de facto term limiter and would be easier to bring about. However, somebody needs to make it a mission, if someone effective does that the rest of the bums can be shamed into supporting it.
