Is Howard Schultz having second thoughts about running for president?
American Thinker ^ | 02/01/2019 | Rick Moran

Fox Business is reporting that potential independent presidential candidate Howard Schultz has told advisors that he was shocked by the near hysterical backlash from Democrats to the news that he may run in 2020 and that he was having second thoughts about entering the race.

Wishful thinking on the part of Democrats or anti-Trump Republicans? No advisors to Schultz are quoted directly in the story. Fox Business "learned" that Schultz told advisors of second thoughts, which could mean they never even had direct contact with Schultz's top advisors.

Nevertheless, it wouldn't be surprising.

The reason for the rapid, and at times, nasty Democratic response is less about what Schultz stands for, and more about how he might impact the 2020 election: If he runs for president as an independent, Schultz is expected to draw votes from the Democratic nominee because of his progressive social positions, thus aiding Republican President Donald Trump’s re-election effort when the president suffers from chronically abysmal approval ratings.

Among Schultz’s most prominent critics has been fellow billionaire and former New York City Mayor Mike BloombergOpens a New Window., himself a possible 2020 Democratic contender. Bloomberg, who also once considered an independent presidential bid, issued a statement that said if Schultz goes that route it will “just split the anti-Trump vote and end up re-electing the president.”

The intense nature of the criticism stunned Schultz, people close to him tell FOX Business. While he expected some carping, he did not foresee the ferocity of some of the vitriol, particularly from the party’s top officials and operatives. In addition to the barrage of criticism from leading Democrats, Schultz was also blindsided by the grass roots blowback, including being heckled during an event in New York City

The Democrats are killing their own.

Time for the moderates to split from the psychotic socialists who’ve taken over that party.

Wonder if he even stops for just one moment to consider what Trump has lived through. Naw. Naivety keeps me thinking one day people will wake up and say wow we are sick and evil. Still he’s gotten an iota of the taste of abject hatred.

Mueller’s goal isn’t simply to attack Trump, but “future Trumps”.

Anyone who dares challenge the elites can expect “Trump treatment”. Friends, family, and associates will spend the rest of their lives knowing that 29 FBI agents may show up at their door tomorrow morning for any reason the elites have settled on.

We can be sure that Schultz will receive this message if he hasn’t already.

Schultz is widely dislike in Seattle for selling off the Sonics that then moved to OK.

Let’s hope he stays in, he is a dedicated Democrat with lots of money and would be the spoiler.

Sadly, I suspect that the President is right, and that Howard “The Duck” Schultz does not have the guts, and will duck out of the race. If he was a “damn the torpedoes” type of guy he would not be prog weenie on half the issues...

I guess he wants to live or not have everyone and everything close to him investigated, harassed and destroyed.

I wonder if, for a second, he'll understand what Trump has had to endure.

On the positive side, one of his advisers, who encourage him to run, is the nauseating backstabber Steve Schmidt. I hope it's a nail in his career coffin. No one would deserve it more.

Remember his directive to write pointed questions about white racism on the coffee cups and get barristas to challenge customers to tell all? The outcry, then withdrawal.

Maybe he gets up in the morning and swings one way and the next day swings the other way.

Ditzy. Democrat.

Once on All in the Family, Archie Bunker said “You guys may think I got some big secret plan going’ on up here (pointing to his head).
Believe me, there is nothin’ going’ on up here (his head again).

Schultz and Ocasio Cortez are prime examples.

He’s not going to run.

He did his 60 Minutes interview and there was no positive reaction from anyone.

His candidacy is dead.

Of course he’ll draw votes from the Democrats if he runs. That is the whole idea of how successful elections work. He might draw votes away from Trump as well, yet he isn’t screaming about it, he knows he doesn’t “own” anyone’s vote.

Maybe he will even draw enough votes to win the danged election, which if I understand it correctly, is why someone runs in the first place.

I don’t know if he’s a good candidate for office or not, frankly I don’t care. I do care that adherents to a major political party think that only their anointed candidate is allowed to run and everyone else must GTFO regardless of how bad a candidate they anoint or how corrupt of a job they do at anointing that candidate (see Clinton, H).

Trump out hustled a very crowded field in the Republican primary and won. I can’t imagine he’s worried about another outsider billionaire entering the race. Hillary tottered through one guy who barely even wanted to be there, a guy whose only recognizable accomplishment in office was taxing the rain, and a seventy year old socialist who wasn’t even a registered Democrat... And she had to cheat to win in that crowd. Let them run, let them fight, let the best candidate win.

I think it’s time for Rush to re-start operation chaos. We as good and faithful conservatives need to put all of our energy behind Shultz running. We need to go to his town halls and give him maximum support. Operation CHAOS!!!!!
