When in fact they are banking a tremendous amount of money in the corporate account. Then they sell out and make a fortune all the while we are supposed to feel sorry for them.

Yeah right! That's why most of them fail and their owners go into bankruptcy, because they are making money hand over fist. I come from a small business background. I worked in a family owned business for 8 years and not only didn't get paid as much as the employees I was supervising, most of the time I didn't get paid at all.

I have to admit after banging my head against the wall for eight years I took the easy way out and got a job as a firefighter working for the government. I then heard all sorts of ignorant a-holes parroting the same nonsense as you for 25 years. It was struggling small business owners who were creating the economic activity that paid our salaries. Try to sell your ignorant socialist crap somewhere else... it is not going to fly here.

As a young guy I worked for several “small” business. A mechanical contractor, a restaurant and a car wash. Every time I’d ask for a raise I’d get a sob story about tight margins ( “I under bid this project just to keep you guys working” blah blah blah ) and slowing business cycle etc. But ironically every year all of them would throw a nice catered summer bbq type get together. All them had nice houses, the kids drove new cars the wives had thick jewelry on. This is my first hand experience. 3 for 3 BS artists all.

You obviously have never owned a small business.

I own a small computer company that employs five people. After 6 PM when the other employees go home, I’m still here vacuuming the carpets, emptying the trash cans, washing counters; etc. When the dust settles I have a couple of employees that actually make more than I do.

I suggest a class in economics for you - or it’s time for you to leave Mommy’a basement.

what the hell are you talking about? Skilled trade unions are NOT the UAW!! If we dont turn the numbers, we’re replaced elpronto! The numbers you may ask?? In the Tile and Marble trade, your typical 3 walls over a tub to the ceiling, if we dont get 4 done a day, were replaced and we’re sittin at home. tax subsidized my ass... and I’ll be damned if I sit quiet when some Dumb Kid makes $5 less an hour than I did when I was Abused in every way(non penatrating) by Journeyman when I was an Apprentice. Money is EARNED not givin to people who refuse to go through the ropes!

Do prices rise when corporate executives receive large raises and reach income levels in the millions of dollars per year?

Why don't you get to be one and find out?

It’s morally wrong to assist someone in the act of self sabotage.

Yum! My fridge is full of fresh veggies and my freezer has an assortment of meats and seafood. It takes time and planning to pull off three 'cooked from scratch' meals a day.. but that's the fun of it! The best part is we 'have it our way'! Creative and Delicious 😁

How does a business cover costs of labor, taxes, inventory, interest, insurance, real estate, etc, if those costs are not factored into the prices of their products?

How many times does a simpleton have to put his/her fingers on a hot stove before realizing it will burn?

Until they run out of fingers?

but all labor costs, from top to bottom, are included in the price of products.

Then you've answered your own question. However, it isn't quite that simple. restaurants in particular operate on very narrow margins, and a shift in the labor rate of the low end employees (and waiting tables is NOT a skilled profession) can easily shift the whole cost structure from profitable to unprofitable. Prior to the distortions caused by a government mandated minimum wage low end employees were getting what the market determined was a fair rate for their unskilled services based on their productivity. A minimum wage boost increases the cost to the business, but does not increase the value of the employee. Therefore the business has to make up the additional cost and the only way they can do that is charge more for their product.

Uh, like, duuuuuuh!

There should be no tipping, period. If you don’t do your job, then you get fired by the boss. Until customers get paid for job evaluations and the power to hire and fire, then it isn’t their responsibility to provide the paychecks and be the boss.

$15 is good pay for a low skill job.
