Asylum crisis in Maine: Dems shift taxpayer money from needy citizens to pay for needs of migrants

The former GOP governor of Maine appeared on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” Wednesday to address reports that his state’s largest city, Portland, is facing an “asylum crisis” as migrants flood in and overwhelm available shelters and public assistance.

Former Gov. Paul LePage, who left office earlier this month, addressed details in a Wall Street Journal report on Sunday headlined, “Maine’s Largest City Strains Under Asylum-Seeker Influx.”

It’s a problem that the city “brought on itself” as the people “are going to be left to pick up the pieces,” Ingraham warned, Lifezette reported.

The WSJ report noted that migrants, mostly from African nations, now make up some 90 percent of Portland’s family and overflow shelters. In all, about 65 to 70 percent of people with government assistance in Maine are asylum seekers. And now, the city’s funds are also “dwindling fast” and lawyers “are overwhelmed with cases,” according to the report.

mostly from African nations

No mention of their religious affiliation, of course.

But you and I both know the answer.

Illiterate, uneducated, welfare grifters who will wait until they increase their numbers until they reach critical mass, then they will start pushing for “Islamic Rights”.

Where are the liberal pseudo-Christian groups who are helping bring these people into the country, and are then dumping them here?

Is it my obligation to self assess a tax increase to pay for these people while our citizens go to the back of the line?

BTW, how many of these “immigrants” live next to the people that brought them here, or the governor’s mansion?

Well I wonder what Senator Collins thanks about all this. She must think a lot because she does think she will of will not back Trump for president in 2020.

George H.W. Bush is the one who started this entire Somali disaster. Illhan Omar is HIS legacy. Chobani’s Hamas-supporting yogurt empire with 90% Somali workers is HIS legacy.

Paging Stephen King for a stupid Twitter comment... King loves Democrats. Let him pay for the “migrants” right after he tears down the wall around his house.

Democrats legislated money for those groups years ago... one more way to undermine Christianity with American citizens...

Asylum in the United States is one of the least financially efficient ways of helping those in need. We should support them in a safe but inexpensive country if we want to feed people who won’t work. how about we deliver them all to the safe African country of their choice (from the bottom 50% of Africa in terms of cost of living) and pay for their support based on the cost of living there. That would be the Christian thing to do - we could help more people.

It’s increasingly evident that the U.S. is not united, and that that we have is actually 2 different countries, perhaps 3.

The only solution to that HUGE crisis may end up in creating 2 different countries, perhaps being allied in mutual defense, but not in anything else. Then, we’ll see who wants to remain in the liberal/socialist side, and who wants the original country established by our founding fathers. And, socialism would be prohibited in the free-market/capitalism dependent country, and that would have to be codified with a change in the constitution.
