I’m fairly certain you don’t seem to know what a Gen X’r actually is. The people you are describing sound like modern kids. Not people between the age of 38 and 53. It’s hard to argue the point with you because you are calling every Father in America a dumbass. Seems odd.
I know of exactly whom I refer.
Do you get out much?
I’ve seen these people, the 38-53 age group, out in public - and they are just as obsessed with their “Smart” Phones as are their children. They could name you every NFL player and stat there is to know; they could tell you the characters and plots of every inane television sitcom that aired ... But ask them a question about U.S. history, economics, cultural rot, or geopolitics? They have a blank stare - just like their ignorant offspring.
Most of them - not all, but most - are clueless to world events, apathetic to politics, and indifferent to the state of this nation.
As long as they have Sunday Football on the idiot box, a case of Budweiser chilling in the fridge, the latest overpriced SUV in the driveway, and a front lawn greener than their neighbor’s, then life is just ducky.
I see it all around me, even here in rural Nebraska; but, apparently, you are either quite blind - or just being an argumentative PITA.
