Didn’t we try the Smart Technology Border Security thingy about 10 years ago? How’d that work out?
It didn’t. The technology itself failed in real world conditions. The tech failure was blamed on the layering of contractors cutting corners. There were also huge cost overruns and failure to get it installed anywhere near on time.
But wait...what the dims are pushing for now is new, and better or so they say. This great new technology needs to be tested thoroughly before spending any real amount of money on it. It works best at or near the Ports of Entry because it can be checked on frequently and easier to get repair people to the ports than out in remote areas.
If you notice the dims don’t want any security between the Ports of Entry, they are now saying all the bad stuff comes through the ports. Problem with that train of thought is there is no way to know what comes through between the ports except for what is caught. If areas between the ports receive no funding that will give them the open border they want.
