We’re getting the same crazy ride. It’s already 6 degrees here, on it’s way to -10. Tomorrow’s high: -2. First time in 25 years we will not get above zero as a daily high. The wind chill is a big problem; it’s expected to be -35 tomorrow morning.
It reminds me of Christmas Eve in 1983; it was -16 with a -50 windchill, and had to change the battery in the future Mrs. henkster’s car so she could get home to her family in southern Indiana. I changed that battery faster than an Indy 500 pit crew.
But we are going to be 55 on Sunday and 60 on Monday. I’m cooking out and wearing shorts.
It sure does make a difference. Not just outside but it sure makes this old house nippy. It didn’t help that the pilot light kept going out in the heater this afternoon but that’s been fixed now. I hope!
I hope it isn’t windy tomorrow because I’m taking Piper to the vet. Being an inside kitty, she has no winter coat and she’ll really feel the cold taking her to and from the car.
I’ll bet it’s miserable at the MN and Iowa nests tonight. Hope the eagles have warm spots!
Well, I am still battling the crud, so no pub nite tonight. I am going to bed early to get as much sleep as I can, as i have to teach tomorrow.

Dang! I feel for all of you farther north than us. It’s cold here but it’s BRUTAL up there! I hope you don’t have to go anywhere tomorrow. That’s hunker-down-inside weather.
The good thing for all of us is this is short-lived. It would really stink if it was going to stick around for a while. Two or three days is already too long!
You should have worked for a pit crew. If you could change a battery in that kind of weather, you could do ANYthing! LOL
Do one from 80’s or 90’s and I’d probably get zero
You KNOW it’s miserable up there. When I saw that pretty juvie at the nest this afternoon, the wind was ruffling its feathers. Gave me goosebumps to think about how cold it was up there.

I think I got that battery changed in something like 3 minutes.
And I am hunkering down tomorrow. I brought plenty of work home to do from my home office. So I’ll be wearing my jammies with coffee in the morning. I do need to go out at 3:00 to meet one of my students, but maybe by then the wind chill will only be -10, ha ha.

Good thinking taking work home with you to do tomorrow. It’s just too bad you have that meeting to drag you out for a while. Jammies with coffee for the whole day would be sooooooooooo nice.
