No need any country that has 1,000,000 percent inflation is doomed anyway.
Maduro’s election last year was not absurd cheating nor a bizarre one-off never happen again sort of thing.
Chavez won election twice this century, and the vote count was legit and not even close. He was a socialist. Maduro is his picked heir apparent, and he has won twice so far.
People are going to have to come to terms with either hating socialism or loving democracy. If the people vote for socialism, which they have done several times now, are you going to accept it or are you going to talk about military options.
Venezuela has oil. Oil that will last far longer than shale. China and Russia own large percentages of it via loans — loans that the US had every opportunity of making and refused. So are we going to not only reject the vote of the people, but also reject the rule of contract law and expunge those loan contracts after the invasion?

No one even knows how corrupt the designated interim President is. Corruption is endemic to Latin American government and politics.
