"The wailing and gnashing of teeth on the hardcore conservative side over Trump’s delaying action..."

Hard core conservatives? Far from it. More like snowflakes who are ready to jump ship at the drop of a hat. Real conservatives don't do that. Wishy washy RINOS do.

Somehow or other, you did a Vulcan mind meld on me... because I agree with every word that you wrote. I am STILL ticked at 922(o), STILL know it to be utterly in violation of the 2nd Amendment, and hope that it will someday be repealed along with the NFA and GCA (among others). Truly, the only thing protecting the modest remainder of our precious liberties is 500 million guns in the hands of the public. This is exactly why the Left want to ban and seize our guns...to extinguish our liberties, once and for all.

Re: 90% of what I want

I voted for Trump in 2016 because he was the most “Conservative” candidate who had a chance to be elected. I will vote to reelect Trump in 2020 for the same reason.

My top three issues are:

(1) Immigration - because new citizens vote 80% for the Democrat Party.

(2) Insane Federal Spending - because when you are broke, nothing else really matters.

(3) Judicial Appointments - because the Political Left legislates and administrates from the Court Room.

I give Trump a 30% grade for Judicial Appointments.

Gorsuch may turn out to be a reliable Conservative.

Kavanaugh told the Senate that RINO Anthony Kennedy was the Justice he most admired.

Trump's first tranche of district and circuit judges in early 2017 was excellent. By late 2017, Trump was allowing Democrat and RINO Senators to nominate their own regional judges.

I give Trump a 0% grade for Federal Spending.

In spite of record tax collections, high employment, and low interest rates, Trump's budget deficit for Fiscal 2018 was $780 billion. Trump's budget deficit for the first two months of Fiscal 2019 - October and November - is already $105 billion higher than the first two months of Fiscal 2018!

I give Trump a 0% grade on Immigration.

Trump has made it crystal clear that he will never deport any illegal immigrants unless they are dangerous criminals.

Trump has made it crystal clear that he will never impose Universal E-Verify. He has not reduced H-1B visas. He has increased foreign student OPT work visas. Until quite recently, Trump conducted fewer illegal workplace raids than Barack Obama.

Trump has extraordinary executive powers under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). In spite of that, Trump has done absolutely nothing of consequence to stop our insane “Catch and Release” border policy.

In conclusion, I want to give my sincere thanks to the dozens of Freepers who will now condescendingly explain to me that Trump is completely helpless because of the federal judiciary, the MSM, the Democrats, the RINOs, and the Deep State.

Why didn't Trump explain that he was helpless BEFORE we elected him?

If millions of illegals cross the border then we lose for all time.

That’s an excellent summary of what PDJT has done for us so far. The war is far from being over, fall back, regroup and attack again.

>>This isn’t merely a question for Trump supporters, but for anyone who still thinks that a political system that isn’t completely run by thugs, with only a simulacrum of democracy as window dressing, is something worth trying to maintain and improve. <<

It is a fool’s errand to attempt to save the Union. The ideological gap between left and right is far to wide to ever bridge. They are polar opposites.

The best we can hope for is an amicable split. Fredrick Douglas wondered if the US is just to large an area to be governed by one central government in Washington. It is, a “one size fits all” system is not working.

The sooner the majority of people in this country realize that and start the process of diving the nation in a peaceful manner, the better. Otherwise, we will continue our slow decent into hell.

They sandbagged Reagan, Bushes lied, Clinton and Obama never tried. The remaking of America via mass migration has been someone’s plan for a long time. The wall & immigration control is the hardest, most obstructed, most bitter fight since the civil war, and operatives from the enemy will try to get us to drop our support for Trump and the wall any way they can. I expect impeachment if he uses executive power to build it. The powerful are afraid of that more than anything. Why? Answer: they want to end America.

I'm quite interested, my good FRiend, and this is not a challenge to what you post.

Who is they?

The powers behind the media and the establishment parties. (And their acolytes within them.) I assume moneyed globalists see world political power being more power than their present wealth.
