Israeli foreign ministry officials excoriated Irelands backing for a bill banning business ties with Jews in Judea, Samaria, and parts of Jerusalem, delivering a sharp reprimand to the Irish ambassador to Israel.
It was made clear to the ambassador that this hypocritical and anti-Semitic legislation will have serious consequences for Israeli-Irish relations and [Irelands] standing in the region if [the bill] is advanced, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said Friday.
It would be better if Ireland confronted dictators and evil terrorist groups instead of [attacking] Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East.

It took a while for Ireland to forgo its Christian heritage and embrace the culture of hedonistic, neo pagan decadence. But when it did, it went in whole hog.

What has happened in Ireland? It’s like they are determined to be the biggest libiots in Europe. And the competition is tremendous.

While Ireland was Christian, it didn’t have such bad attitudes.
I am still wondering how much of a chance this bill actually has. I can’t see the Irish people as a whole wanting this.

Ireland didn’t think it worthy to fight Hitler.

If the Nazis were winning the war, the Irish would have welcomed the Nazis with open arms.

I think it was more anti-British than pro Germany but what they are doing now is inexplicable. I may be 1/1024th Irish, but the news makes me wonder.

True but over 400,000 men from the Republic of Ireland served in British forces. How many Swedes or Swiss joined the fight? The Swedes and the Swiss traded with the Germans until the gold the Nazis sold ran out. Dante said it best regarding the moral absurdity of “neutralism”. Such people were the most despised in hell. Read “The Inferno”.

The moral authority of the Catholic Church was destroyed by the corruption of its homosexual clergy. Once the Irish lost faith, they quickly reverted to neo paganism.

The results of Global Common Core Education forced upon unsuspecting parents in many Western Countries by the deep state controllers. Children are taught to be emotional basket cases in schools, and then grow up to be useful idiots. Programmed to be triggered with carefully orchestrated media events, trolls they engage with on social blogs, corrupted celebrities at the appropriate time.

As a dual citizen of the U.S. & Ireland, I'll offer you some thoughts that are a bit different than you might hear from others. For the last 200 years or so years, the best, smartest, most ambitious people of each generation got the hell out of what was a small, poor, rainy s---hole country. So who stayed? The comfortable, the conformists, the timid, the unambitious.
For a long time, the culture to which they conformed was a sort of rigid, puritanical Catholic culture. That has failed. Why? The simplistic answer is the priest sex abuse scandals, but it's a lot more complicated than that. In reality, the sex abuse stuff was more of an excuse than a reason. The introduction of popular entertainment in the form of movies and TV from the U.S. and the U.K. through the mid-to-late 20th century result in a tremendous inferiority complex. The glamorization of sexual liberation, wealthy and other "modern" lifestyles depicted in TV and movies had a profound effect. The Irish mentality was very much: why are we so backward? At the same time, for tax reasons, many big multinational companies set up shot in Ireland and brought with them political correctness and high incomes that resulted in a sort of crass materialism. As a result, the rush now is to conform to something very different than the old Catholic culture. An unbridled materialism combined with the entire liberal/left social agenda (gays, abortions, anti-Christianity, anti-Israel) is being adopted enthusiastically and uncritically in a desperate attempt to be "with it."
The irony is that Ireland is simply proving its backwardness and conformity all over again. Ireland is always behind the times, and the Irish people are always conforming to something that is already passe. Becoming crass materialists means that crass materialism will soon fade. Adopting abortion means that we're at peak abortion. Ireland embracing gays means that we're at peak gay. Ireland bashing Israel means that we're at peak Israel-bashing. Within a decade or two, I bet we're going to see real changes (and reversals) on all of those issues.

That sucks. Some of the US early settlers were Irish and helped form our culture. Watching the demise is sad.

I hope and pray Ireland doesn’t go full politically correct and invite an Islamic invasion. That would destroy Ireland for sure.

Banning deals with Jews, as people, is crossing a big bad line than just banning products made or grown in the West Bank. A step too far.
The left has gone mad, but we knew that already.

It was backwards when Joyce wrote Ulysses. It’s why he left and wrote about it and Irish antisemitism.

I love it when the Israelis get their “Irish up”. I smell the old commies of Sein Fein and the IRA behind a lot of this.
Remember, years ago they hosted an “Terrorist International” planning meeting in Belfast with the ETA, JRA, the PFLP, possibly the PLO, and other groups including a few from Latin America and Africa.
Like the Nun used to say, “Old habits die hard”.
