Trump never fought very hard when the GOP was in control. If Paul Ryan was not going to fund the wall, what made him think Nancy Pelosi would? The wall should have been a day one priority. But he kept signing one GOP spending bill after another even when they specifically forbid any wall spending. Why the hell would he sign that? If you just got elected and the Congress is forbidding you from doing your central promise of the campaign...THAT is when you go to war. That is where you have the political capital. You don’t wait for the opposition to take control.

This is not good for 2020. Anyone who doesn’t realize that is blind. Not only is this a broken promise, but it’s the type of political loss that will carry on. Remember when Bush lost on Social Security reform? He pretty much threw in the towel at that point. He was never the same. The rest of his presidency was on cruise control. That’s what may happen here.

The only thing left for us to hope for is that Ruth Bader Ginsberg croaks before 2020.

“Trump never fought very hard when the GOP was in control.”

You lost me with your opening line.

Trump had neither grace period nor “political capital.” He was under constant brutal attack from the democrats, his own party, the media, much of his staff, the Justice Department, FBI, you name it.

A lesser warrior would have crumbled and resigned within six months. That’s what DC expected. Trump fought against all odds and is still fighting for us.

If it weren’t for your gratuitous RBG hope, I would take you for a troll.

You remind me of the NeverTrumping GOPee cucks, little davey.

Not only is this a broken promise, but it’s the type of political loss that will carry on. Remember when Bush lost on Social Security reform? He pretty much threw in the towel at that point.

There's going to be a smoking crater where the GOPee was in 2020 if Trump loses on this.

The NeverTrump RINOs think that the base will dutifully vote for whatever cuck they put forward next.

Ain't gonna happen. Trump was the last chance of the Republicans.

It will be the box after the ballot box, since there's only one party.
