Where I’m concerned is three weeks from now, when there is nothing to our satisfaction achieved. Say he shuts the government down partially again, and we he go another 30 days. Why wouldn’t he decide that federal employees are “suffering too much”, and just give them back pay again? He’s already set the precedent for it once. What is his Trump card (no pun inteneded) if there is no satisfactory bargain? Let me put it another way...why should any Dem-politician fear Trump now after this latest maneuver? It does not seem to be a move from a position of advantage.

If the problem is so serious, why wait?

It’s going to lead many to believe now that the problem isn’t all that serious.

Trump Tweet:

“I wish people would read or listen to my words on the Border Wall. This was in no way a concession. It was taking care of millions of people who were getting badly hurt by the Shutdown with the understanding that in 21 days, if no deal is done, it’s off to the races!” 4:33 PM - 25 Jan 2019
