“But discrimination on the basis of skin color has been outlawed in this country for more than 60 years.”
Nonsense; decades ago they made it legal to discriminate against whites in terms of affirmative action for access to higher education, jobs, and promotions - and today that is REQUIRED (woe to any company or government entity that doesn’t have the right ratio of otherized people at all levels!).
White privilege is the privilege of being regarded as untrustworthy, prejudiced, and blind to the injustices ones skin color is said to inflict.”
White privilege is the sad mantra of non-whites who believe in their own genetic inferiority, who have given up attempting to compete. I’ve never heard Asians (real Asians, not Pacific Islanders) use the term, with good reason - they feel no inferiority.
True- what I have found in when people spew the phrase “white privilege” what they are doing is trying to smear and vilify those of us with a strong work ethic. They do not want to work for anything, they want everything handed to them. Like my wise husband says, they don’t want equality of opportunity, they want equality of outcomes from those of us who work hard and smart.

As a subcontractor on state funded construction projects I can tell many stories of discrimination based on skin color. If you are white, good luck. They don’t care how good you are, they only care about the right color.
They make the argument that racism is genetic, but gender is a choice.
It is all based on rhetoric and emotional manipulation - no substance at all.

Precisely. Human nature being what it is - take the path of least resistance - is it easier to come up with a term that puts a large group of people in a position of getting things given to you, not unlike affirmative action, or to knuckle down and work your ass off to show what you are capable of?
