The newly appointed secretary of state in Florida resigned Thursday after a 2005 photo of him reportedly in blackface mocking Hurricane Katrina victims surfaced.
The photo, obtained by The Tallahassee Democrat, shows Secretary of State Mike Ertel with brown face paint, wearing red lipstick, earrings and a New Orleans Saints bandanna. Ertel also had fake breasts under a purple shirt that said "Katrina Victim," according to the Democrat.

We don't live in a free society. There are lots and lots of rules.
My thoughts when this happens (and remarkably it continues to happen) is how far removed from current news are you as to not know this is unacceptable today?
How many times have we seen this? He's a politician for heavens sake. He must have heard about this happening to other public figures.
And if you do know why would you let anyone take a picture of you?
If you do this and you get caught you're too dumb to hold office.
He should have said that he was going thru a stage in his life where he identified himself as being a big breasted black woman...........
Honestly, was there ever a time when this risk to his future life was a good idea?
