I think conservatives are so used to the gop caving on everything that we’ve been programmed to think every small tactical move by Trump is a “caving”.
Every time so far we’ve said for two years Trump is going wobbly he comes back stronger and delivered or if he hasn’t delivered it is totally out of his control.
He is literally fighting the entire swamp he has to have some room for tactical flexibility.
I’d much rather have the wall than the speech (which I think will be delivered anyway eventually).
He considered the argument over the SOTU to being used by Pelosi to divert from the important task of getting the wall built...
He knew that by saying he’d give it later effectively ended that argument and he can continue on the IMPORTANT issue....
