It's not like Trump to have gone against Pelosi without another move to counter her refusal. I suspect McConnell may have backed down on him doing it in the Senate Chamber. I know the floor of the Senate is too small, but the gallery appears to go all around and if visitors were not included and the press was limited to pool cameras or C-Span it should take the hundreds more Reps from the House needed.
