Well, it has to be either global warming, racism or the government shutdown.

Doesn’t matter because...it’s President Trump’s fault.

“There is no way to overstate the impact of these Gannett-wide cuts on our ability to cover the community with the depth and breadth we expect and that our readers deserved,’’ Nelson said. “While those of us still in the newsroom remain committed to cover this region the very best we can with the resources we have left, we have to ask: How many more?’’

Wake up and smell the coffee honey, or bleed to death.

I don't care which. You've earned your fate.

I read a local Gannet rag every day online and use a privacy browser to bypass the paywall.

It’s long overdue for Gannet to go out of business. They own the local paper in my town. Historically a conservative town. The paper has been nothing more than a DNC newsletter for decades. When the editor moves on, they send us another East Coast liberal to replace the earlier DNC rep.

Our local rag was bought by USA Today and it has gone far left. I wrote scathing letter to the ex-editor telling him that I had found that in a three-month period, 90% of the articles and editor’s comments were all far left, anti-Trump, false news. He called me and said he didn’t believe my study, claiming that the paper was “politically neutral” What a joke! He then said he would not print my letter, as “my numbers were not true.” My best hope is that USA Today will also go broke and soon!

In the short run downsizing works AND it’ll make [powerful liberals in the newsroom even more powerful. In the long run this stuff is the kiss of death.

Newspapers would do better by targeting the news needs of all the citizens in their cities - not just members of the liberal establishment.

Verizon (Huffington Post/Yahoo/AOL), BuzzFeed and Gannett are all laying off staff, more than 1,000 people in all.

Wednesday was a dark day for media jobs, with major cuts coming from three prominent organizations. Verizon Media Group (formerly called Oath, it’s the current parent of the Huffington Post, AOL and Yahoo) reportedly plans to cut around seven percent of its staff (or around 800 employees), while BuzzFeed is laying off around 15 percent of its staff (around 250 people) and Gannett (owner of USA Today and numerous papers across the U.S.) has made major cuts of its own.

BuzzFeed could be looking at mergers with other companies.

Great Day For America.

I remember them when they started, it was a fun paper to read, and certainly had the best coverage of weather in the US and around the world.

And I remember hoping that maybe they won’t be quite as left-wing as the NY Times...but nope, their editorials were standard Hate-America crap.

“This is shocking news. I had no idea Gannett had journalists on the payroll.”

What makes you think they do? As far as I’ve ever seen from them, they have DNC operatives CLAIMING to be ‘journalists’.

#3. re “How will we survive without USA Today”? Well very, thank you. What was once an interesting paper turned into a leftist rag and birdcage liner.

Let them go down in flames. Nobody will miss them, or at least nobody with half a frontal lobe.

Gannett runs my hometown newspaper. There customer service rates a zero. They don’t respond to emails or answer their phone. It is such a joke.

Central banks create digital currency at computers. Their privileged members get to borrow for free if they pay it back in 30 days. They pay it back in 30 days and borrow it again; rinse and repeat.

Globalists control who is privileged and who is not.

You can take it to the bank, pun intended, that globalists are funding propaganda.

No way in hell is Gannett selling enough soap to fund their operations. They connected their feeding tube to globalists years ago, especially after the financial collapse in March 2009, they all had their hands out asking for a bailout,
