They’ll keep this investigation going as long as possible, partly out of spite, but also because they know President Trump will soon have the opportunity to nominate another Supreme Court Justice. When RBG goes slab surfing, the talking point will be: “We should not even consider any nominee for the Supreme Court while a current member of the court is under investigation.” Of course, that’s totally ridiculous, but it won’t stop the Democrats from trying to make that argument.
