Retired detective Kevin Gannon insists the drowning deaths of dozens of college-aged men across America since the late '90s are the work of a serial killer gang, not mere accidents.
The theory of the 20-year veteran of the New York City Police department and his longtime partner, Anthony Duarte, is at the center of an Oxygen docuseries titled “Smiley Face Killers: The Hunt for Justice.”
The drowned men that Gannon and Duarte call "victims" were all young, athletic and academic achievers. They were all reportedly found dead after a night out drinking. They started appearing in clusters across the country starting 1997. A graffiti of a smiley face was reportedly found near the bodies, and nine of them were drawn with horns, The Telegraph previously reported.
The publication added the claim particularly caused alarm in the neighboring states of Minnesota and Wisconsin, where 19 of the deaths occurred.
“Back in 2003 I saw there was like 30 or 40 new cases across the country,” claimed Gannon. “I said, ‘Wow, there can’t be that many cases.’ I started really looking at it and I got my partner Anthony. At that point, we started traveling around the country and looking at these cases independently."
The Oxygen special focuses on the drowning of Dakota James, whose body was recovered from the Ohio River on March 6, 2017, nearly six weeks after he went out drinking with co-workers. The last known sighting of the Duquesne University graduate student was caught on a surveillance camera. The footage captured James entering a dark alley.

Kevin Gannon’s literary agent came to me to help write Gannon’s book.
Trust me, Gannon is psychotically insane out of his mind.
More like Fight Club. The difference here being, they all appear accidental. The Zebra(striped jackass) was clearly homicide.
Wasn’t there a racial component or pattern in a lot of the ‘victims’?
I might be mixing this one up with something else I saw, but not only were they young, athletic, academicly successful males, but I though I remembered that most were of northern European or German ancestry.
My guess is the Smiley Face Killers gang are FBI agents, and probably connected to the PizzaGate Deep State Sicko crap.
Something does seem to be up with these cases.
This case almost screams out “homosexuality”, either of the victims or the perpetrators.
The Zebra killings were done by some black moslems who decided to go all jihadi and kill whites.
Some people were shot, some hacked with machetes.
Years ago, I saw an estimate that around 240 whites were murdered over the years by these gangs.
They were all white young men, college aged to late 20s. There were many common elements between the victims, particularly in the crime scenes and the circumstances leading up to their disappearances and deaths.
Anyone remember the Houston killings back in the 1970s and 1980s It was homos killing young men they picked up.
I don’t know if Gannon is crazy or not, but I did watch the show about James. If what they showed on that show is true, the case needs to be re-classified as a homicide. In the show, they show pictures of his neck and there are clear ligature marks around his neck and confirmed by world renowned forensic pathologist Cyril Wecht. On top of that, it is said that the DA in Pittsburgh (Steven Zapala) has doubts about the accidental case as well but can’t do anything because the forensic people have not re-classified it.
One little aside about Wecht, when he’s on TV he always comes across as this intelligent (he is, has multiple master degrees as well as a doctorate), erudite and thoughtful person. A friend of mine who knows him says that behind closed doors he is as foul mouthed as a drunken sailor. He’s got to be close to 90 now but he still looks good.
Meanwhile the bodies Lot Lizards are being found along the interstates regularly.
Was a similar case in Middlebury VT a few years ago, a Middlebury College student disappeared. Found the kid in the river in town a few months later after the Spring thaw.

I would say perpetrators almost certainly, victims incidentally.
I was once approached late at night at a bus stop by a homoerotic male in an expensive convertible when I was 18. I had boyish features and a slim, athletic build. I looked 16.
He offered me a ride home. He was well dressed, and very personable.
I was naive, but my radar warned me not to accept his offer of a lift. I figured it out as I got older.
They will target what attracts them, whether the potential victim signals any inclination or not.
I have been “hit” on by homoerotic males several times in adulthood. One of those was a co-worker who knew I was a conservative, not promiscuous, man.
They tend to think they can convert anyone.
